In certain situations a plumber is absolutely necessary, but before you spend the money on a plumber, try this:
a) if the toilette is near full, empty as much of the nasty water as you can. you need to make room for the following....
1) pour some dishwater soap into the clogged toilette, about a 1/2 cup. let it set while you do step 2
2) boil a large pot of water, a gallon or so...make sure it comes to a boil
3) carefully take the boiling water to the toilette and pour it in slowly.
4) Let the hot water and soap sit for a good 10-15mins. Usually, this is enough to do the trick
4) Now boil more hot water, while boiling water, break out the Plunger, and carefully give some pushes to try and loosen things up down there...
5) after plunging, add a little more soap, DO NOT USE liquid plumber, or any of that stuff!!! it will ruin your day, and eat your toilette's seal!! the warning label that says DO NOT USE on TOILETTES is there for a good reason!!!
6) after the water is at a boil, and you have added more soap, pour the water in try to do it so it goes in kind of quick, but don't get crazy. Let this sit for a while; by now, if you have not seen any flow, you've probably got a pretty bad clog.
7) Plunger...and try more hot water (remove water if needed to add more boiling water
8) Rent an auger from a hardware store.
If this did not work, you probably need to make that call...good luck. I have had the boiling water and soap fix cat litter in a toilette! (yes, a kid i knew put cat liter in the toilette, too lazy to properly dispose of it)...
Best regards!
